Overview
Mansion House Care Home is a small care facility providing residential care for 15 residents. As part of its commitment to delivering exceptional care and improving resident wellbeing, the organisation implemented the 'Cyril' holistic patient monitoring application.
The solution combines physical health monitoring, emotional wellbeing assessments, social engagement tracking and cognitive health monitoring to provide caregivers with a complete view of each resident's health and quality of life.
By adopting a more proactive and data-driven approach to care, Mansion House has significantly improved resident wellbeing, family satisfaction and staff empowerment.
Challenges
Mansion House Care Home wanted to improve the quality and consistency of care while gaining greater visibility of residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.
Key Challenges Included:
- Managing and interpreting multiple sources of resident data
- Encouraging resident adoption of new technologies and processes
- Supporting a cultural shift towards proactive, data-led care
- Providing effective staff training and engagement
- Ensuring caregivers were confident using new medical and monitoring technologies
Our Approach
A holistic monitoring strategy was introduced using the Cyril application and a range of connected health technologies.
Each resident's room was equipped with Tele Health devices to monitor:
- Heart rate
- Blood pressure
- Oxygen saturation levels
In addition, IoT devices were implemented to monitor resident mobility, enabling caregivers to quickly identify changes in activity levels and respond proactively to potential health concerns.
Frequent wellbeing check-ins were introduced to assess mood, mental state and stress levels using structured electronic questionnaires and observational tools.
Recognising the importance of social connection, Mansion House also monitored residents' participation in social activities and interactions. A programme of social events was introduced, with attendance and engagement tracked to better understand the impact of social interaction on overall wellbeing.
Regular cognitive assessments were also implemented using puzzles, memory exercises and activities designed to measure mental acuity and cognitive stability. The data collected was used to continuously refine individual care plans and shared with families to provide greater visibility and reassurance.
Benefits to the Customer
The implementation of holistic patient monitoring delivered a range of measurable benefits:
- Enhanced health outcomes through continuous monitoring and proactive intervention
- Reduced emergency incidents by 25%
- Reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety by approximately 30%
- Increased family confidence and satisfaction through greater transparency
- More personalised and better-tailored care plans
- Improved staff empowerment and retention
The Result
By adopting a holistic approach to patient monitoring, Mansion House Care Home transformed the way it delivers care. Real-time visibility of residents' physical and emotional wellbeing enabled caregivers to identify issues earlier, respond more quickly and provide more personalised support.
The initiative resulted in a measurable reduction in emergency incidents, improved mental wellbeing among residents and stronger engagement from both families and staff. The solution has created a more proactive care environment and established a new standard for resident-centred care within the organisation.
